The Consul General of the Republic of Chad in Nairobi held a high-level bilateral meeting with senior officials from the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Ministry's headquarters in Nairobi on 10 March 2026.
The discussions covered a broad range of subjects central to the growing relationship between the two nations, including the development of trade corridors linking East and Central Africa, joint security cooperation frameworks within the African Union, and the expansion of academic exchange programmes between Chadian and Kenyan universities.
The Consul General reaffirmed Chad's commitment to deepening its partnership with Kenya, describing Nairobi as a strategic gateway for Chadian engagement with the broader East African community. The Kenyan delegation expressed strong interest in expanding commercial ties with Chad, particularly in the agriculture, energy, and logistics sectors.
Both parties agreed to establish a joint working group to follow up on the outcomes of the meeting and to develop a bilateral cooperation framework for 2026–2030. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.
The Consulate of Chad in Nairobi remains committed to facilitating dialogue, commerce, and people-to-people ties between the Republic of Chad and the Republic of Kenya.
